Parkinson's Disease study at Tuttle Health, LLC
Tuttle Health, LLC is a satellite center for an international study on Parkinson's disease! And Tuttle Health is looking for people with Parkinson's disease to participate in the study.
The study involves the usage of photobiomodulation on the brain. Photobio-who? Basically, it's a fancy way of saying shining near-infrared light into the head. It's non-invasive. Photobiomodulation is thought to work by increasing mitochondrial activity in the cells (mitochondria are the "powerhouse" of cells). More information about the science behind photobiomodulation can be seen here: https://vielight.com/photobiomodulation/
Participation involves coming to Tuttle Health for some baseline testing including a brain mapping (qEEG). Once that is done, the participant takes home a near-infrared light device home. The treatment occurs at home over 60 days. After that, they return to Tuttle Health for some follow up testing.
Tuttle Health, LLC has been selected as a site to have people participate in this study. Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 85 and have Parkinson's disease. Call 727-509-3760 or email [email protected] to find out more information and to sign up to be in the study.
