Nutrition: It's Not what you might think

Another thing that can interfere with the body taking care of itself is how a person's biochemistry is functioning. This is a complex process with lots of moving parts. And it goes beyond just what you are eating.
We are often taught that nutrition is simply what you eat and that if we eat "good" then we are healthy. But it isn't that simple!
Yes, eating "good" starts with what we eat. But once food is placed in the mouth a complex series of processes go on to break down food, bring the nutrients into the body and to all the cells in the body. Waste products must then be effectively eliminated.
There are so many steps in these processes. As a Chiropractic Physician, I have been taught to understand these complex processes. For patients who need it, I offer specialized lab testing to help identify dysfunctions in the body that interfere with proper health and wellness. I can then help patients make changes in their life so they remove the dysfunctions in the body that are obstructing the body from functioning properly.
Different people need different things. This is a concept called "biochemical individuality," a term coined by Roger Williams. The idea is that each individual has specific needs in order to have properly functioning metabolism and biological processes. There is no special "diet" that is going to help everyone.
